Los Pericos is a reggae and ska band from Argentina founded in 1986. In 2006 had surpassed the two and a half million discs sold and almost reached 2000 live performances. They were named reggae ambassadors for Jamaica.
Los Pericos began to play in 1986, as a group of friends that got together to interpret the music they liked; they dabbled in music performing songs by Toots & The Maytals, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh. Shortly after they became an important Argentine Reggae band.
After the voluntary departure of his previous vocalist, they play a change, leaving aside the figure of the only singer, Los Pericos has Juanchi Baleirón in charge of the voices. With airs of total renovation, stimulated by the beginning of a new stage of change and challenge, Los Pericos are presented live with a more compact scheme, accentuating its reggae-rock format. In April of 2005 65.000 people presented themselves at the Festival Vive Latino of Mexico City, obtaining great receptivity from the international press that honored them with very good reviews coinciding with the public that has remained loyal to the group.
